Update 15-01
Update of Day 15-01 to 17-01
Monday 14 November 2005
6:55 PM

On Friday, we got our theme for Fly By Night Video Challenge which was ^)$#*. Yes. Thats right. "The theme for this years competition is ^)$#*". I shit you not. Ali and Bensoh stayed over at my place for the night where we watched Phone Booth and Fight Club until 3:30 AM. Fight Club was a really good movie although watching it so late when we had to film the next day wasn't a very wise choice at all. Waking up the next day was hell and we couldn't think of anything. Zheng Hao came over at 8AM and tried to rally us although we ended up talking about philosophy instead. Being tired, stonned, and knocked out by the battery of filming from previous days, our main crew Zheng Hao, Ali, Me, Luke, Bloke, Ben Soh and Ethan & Kentay, wandered around Orchard Rd on Saturday filming random shit and got chased away from an Dhoby Gaud MRT Station by SWAT policemen which looked no older than the SWAT from our film. Zheng Hao had an idea that ^)$#* represented the degeneratioin of our language and we hoped to do something philsophical, artsy, and deep in exchange for the usual superficial action stuff we usually ride on.

It was, however, a drastica failure. We ended up sitting under the steps of Food Republic and stonning while munching on ice cream, chilli fries, and chicken rice. Bloke & Zheng Hao were really bothered by some mesky little kids who kept pushing us for money and blocking the camera. We did this crap for at least 3 hours until we went to Ben Soh's house to do the conversation scene. It involved Bloke intruding into Ali in the bathroom complaining that he could not 'express himself properly'. Ali would then introduce the concept of 'Emod-Icons' which are basically smilies faces drawn on cardboard paper. Then the two would get pissed and Ali realizes he can't fully express himself on EmodIcons. Giving up, they would then go for a beer. I guess it proceeded okay although I'm not to sure since I was partially drunk.

I'll say partially drunk because I was still fully conscious and could control my body to a limited degree. I was feeling so bad about the crappy day that I asked for 'something strong' - Which turned out to be the stronggest whiskey ever. Please remind me never to drink whiskey ever again. The thing does the opposite effect of wine. When one drinks wine, a heightening, 'high' sensation is usually felt whereby the person would go into a state of increased awareness until he or she succumbed and fell asleep. I was counting on this short burst for filming but whiskey just skipped the entire 'high' part and just went to the low - Dizziness, sleepiness, and a big headache was what I got. Horrible, really.

I tried editing the video - Which had AWESOME angles and lighting but I woke up late (Hangover) plus I could not convert the damn thing into DV tape format! Oh well. I wasted $20 on the damn entry fee! I'll make it back somehow. On an offnote, I should mention that Zheng Hao (If he's concentrated enough that is) is an awesome cameraman and director of photography. The angles in the movie were nothing short of beautiful! Too bad he was so busy taking skills he couldnt help out with motion filming at the warehouse.

Anyhow, 'studied' Chinese B O's for the rest of Sunday and Monday. I just borrowed the VTR from Mr. Ling today. He's such a damn nice teacher. Really understanding and altogether a very sporting guy. (In a non-gay way to those of you thinking that way...) If only he didn't head Media Productions =P

We have planned to do the killing of Jeff's girlfriend on Wednesday. I hope everyone can come and Bensoh's actress will be sporting. I can't think of:

1)Good Emo-Scenes (Where Jeff 'bonds' with his gal - I.e. Eating is restaurant, swimming, etc.)
2)A good hawker center with a nice view of sunset
3)How his wife should die
4)How disturbed Jeff should be
5)How to not dirty my floor but keep blood effects on maximum

We wanted to do it in a HDB but everyone whom we know that has a HDB (Very few...Which is so typically ACSI), is quite reluctant. Guess its my place (As always =S) Parents have been uber pissed at me lately for spending so much time on filming so I hope they don't get pissed off. Another delimma is whether or not I should go for class party tomorrow since I'm really behind in editing (Its due this Saturday) I really want to go but if I do, it'll be detrimental in the long run. What should I do? Anyhow, thats all for today. Will update on Tuesday or Wednesday.
